A recently divorced single mom of a toddler and faced with a disappointing job market for liberal arts graduates, Lizz decided to return to school and earn an associates degree in Medical Assisting. She chose this option because it will make it possible for her to find a job close by with decent pay and good hours. She had to take out loans to finance this degree, and she travels one hour each way to take the courses she needs. While she shares custody with her former husband, Lizz has assumed major responsibility for her daughter's care for five out of seven days a week. Although Lizz has a busy schedule, she finds the time to read to her daughter daily and attend to her every need. Lizz simply delights in being a mother and has made that her top priority.
