My sister-in-law, Lynette, has four kids — ages ten, eight, three and one. While traveling solo recently, she zipped into a public restroom to change little Gabi’s diaper, leaving the other three waiting outside — with the oldest supposedly watching the 3-year-old, while the eight-year-old used the men’s room. 

Not surprisingly, she was in a hurry.

Unfortunately, the diaper-changing counter was occupied by a young woman with her first baby, clearly taking her time with perfectly laid out changing mat, sanitizing wipes, waterless hand-soap, diaper rash cream — the whole works.

Lynette took one look and asked if she could quickly squeeze onto a small corner of the area. The woman graciously agreed. 
In a fifteen-second flurry of precision motion, Lynette was done.

The other mom – who hadn’t moved — stared, open-mouthed, and told her with absolute awe, “That was, by far, the fastest diaper change I’ve ever seen!” 
“Fourth kid,” Lynette called back over her shoulder, as she went to hunt for the 3-year-old.

Later, she confessed that she only bothered to use a wipe because somebody was watching.

Lynette’s remarkable energy, selfless commitment, overwhelming love, and continual ability to not sweat-the-small-stuff with these four fabulous little people certainly earn her my uncontested vote for Mamalode’s #badassmom.
