my mouth aching
because of the big, black metal
pieces on my teeth
forcing them to be perfect.

My life is like braces,
everyone forcing me to be
the best I can be
but sometimes
I prefer just to be me,
the girl who loves music
and lurks in the shadows,
with her friends,
