Hey Mamalode! Quinn here. Local to Missoula, and mama to Lochlan. I wanna talk first to you all about being a young mother❤. Being barely 20 and having my sweet kiddo was my saving grace. Lochlan has taught me love and compassion like i never before knew was was possible. I always felt more grown up than others my age…but this is really growing up. This is responsibility. Another life in my hands. One i created. It’s unreal. and wonderful. I want to hear from you other mamas. How old were you when you had your first kiddo? What have they taught you?

Being a mom is hard. Of course it is. But it’s the best thing ever, right? I think so. I wouldn’t trade being a mother for the world. But of course, i have to have my daily practice. Little things i do every day to keep me sane and going. I struggle with awful anxiety, it’s a crippling fear that something terrible will happen to us. So that it in itself makes keeping my cool really tough. Turning on music and dancing with my baby boy ? I meditate constantly. Even if for a few seconds at a time. It works wonders. ? Eating as clean as I can. ? Getting outside. Taking the kiddo on walks and hikes as often as it’s nice out. ? Having a balance of a little bit of my own time to go along with all my mama time. a WHOLE LOT of coffee☕ girlfriends to talk to?‍♀️ Self expression through art. for me, photography (specifically self portraiture)? taking time to soak in and appreciate the little moments that pass by too quickly. Journaling ? A sleep schedule?? Idk what i’d do if my kiddo didn’t take naps and sleep well at night!! Rising above the judgement and naysayers and breastfeeding haters. What else do you mamas use to keep up with the craziness???
