The Importance of Simple Play

I write and I sigh
I think and I fly

Let’s set the course
No tech—we play horse

Put away that phone—it’s time to “wed”
Not to daddy, but I guess to Ned

Playing house—so much home to keep
I know, let me be the baby—then I can sleep

Many little things I want to savor
Where did they possibly learn that behavior?

No amount of time will ever be enough
Remember not to fill that time with too much stuff

No pushing iPads when fort building is still fun
Heck yeah! I’ll play before bff mommy time is done

When life makes it hard to pinpoint what should come first
Always know, my sweet little ones, that you fill my heart to burst
