Sometimes we just need to hit “pause.” Step back. Reflect. Get inspired. Reconnect. And maybe even celebrate.
Whether we pause or not, the work will always be there. The world will keep turning. Things will continually be added to our to-do list.
But sometimes, we just need a moment to breathe, think, unwind and question. What if some of the stuff we’re so busy doing isn’t the best stuff to do? What if less really is more? Or maybe there’s a better way. Maybe the energy we derive from a break or celebration can be the very fuel that elevates us, makes us stronger, brings fulfillment. It’s hard to think about any of these things clearly when we’re caught up in the whirlwind that is life.
At Mamalode, we’re a small team. We love what we do. We work hard. We produce a lot. We go the extra mile. Often. But we’re not always good at making time for the pause, patting each other on the back, holding each other up or taking a long hard look at why we do what we do—together, as a team.
So last fall, we decided to make the time. We found that great big pause button, and we hit it. We picked a date and took the Mamalode team on a surprise adventure. We ditched our devices, our families and our to-dos and focused on the here and now. We focused on the team, the dream and the mission. We laughed, cried, played games and celebrated each other—and all of you who make Mamalode what it is, each and every day.
