A day in the life. One fascinating little sentence that has opened up a world between mamas everywhere. When Mamalode asked me to take over their Instagram feed for the day, I knew it would be an opportunity to connect with women that live much differently than I do.

So, life’s a little different. Simple errands like grocery shopping requires 40 minutes of drive time one way. Meal preparation looks differently than most because I am weighing food, counting carbohydrates, and dosing insulin to our 4 year old. My husband slips on Wranglers for work; not slacks. My children chase chickens around our yard and ask to eat at the tavern for dinner. Life is different.

But within the differences, there are connections. Small instances of “I’ve been there” and “I know how you feel” that fosters connections with others. I’m breastfeeding pulled over on the side of a farm road—different scenery; same scene. The details maybe different, but the big picture is still the same: I’m a mom of three, trying to survive each day with a substantial amount of coffee and patience through pee-soaked sheets and scraped knees.  Thank you for letting me share my day.
