I attempted to wrangle the iPad away from the toddler, who was using a stubby arm of the case for a chew toy.

Maybe couples who seem like they’ve got an “easy” marriage have really had to fight for it, just like we have, and love has come more easily over time.

The Scars Project was created to highlight the relationship between kids and their scars. Kids who’ve gone through something traumatic, and have come out on the other side stronger and braver for it.

These may be the last words they ever speak to me, I think to myself, searing them into my memory. Because today, I’m on an airplane.
